A Bath chiropractor who was charged with indecent assault of four female patients in April has been temporarily barred from treating clients.

The state Board of Chiropractic temporarily suspended the license of John A. Marino, 48, of Bushkill Township, this month because he is "a clear and immediate danger to the public health and safety."

Marino owns Marino Chiropractic Clinic at 364 S. Walnut St. in Bath. He also serves on the Nazareth Area School Board, a non-salaried position he has held since winning election in 2001.

According to court records, four female patients went to the Colonial Regional Police Department with complaints about Marino. The women, whom police said knew each other, alleged that Marino asked them if they ever suffered from heartburn. When they said "yes," he told them he had an "adjustment" to treat the heartburn.
