Local chiropractor charged with more counts of sexual abuse

An Oskaloosa chiropractor will appear in court next week on seven charges of third-degree sexual abuse and one charge of tampering with records.

Jason Ebelsheiser, 33, of Oskaloosa, was charged in late July with five counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of tampering with records.

The Oskaloosa Police Department continued its investigation of allegations related to sexual abuse of multiple patients by Ebelsheiser. Two additional charges have been added to the case filed Sept. 3.

According to trial information, Ebelsheiser allegedly committed third-degree sexual abuse against a 46-year-old woman in 2008. Also, in 2007, Ebelsheiser allegedly committed third-degree sexual abuse against a 31-year-old woman.

Third-degree sexual abuse is a class C felony. Class “C” felonies are punishable by up to 10 years in prison, along with a fine.
