A chiropractor who operated the Spine and Joint Rehabilitation Center in Maywood for more than a decade was recently sentenced to 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to healthcare fraud. The chiropractor admitted that he and others submitted false or inflated claims resulting in more than $1.4 million in payments from workers’ compensation and other insurers for services that were not provided. The defendant was also ordered to pay restitution totaling $1,450,202 by U.S. District Judge John Grady, Northern District of Illinois.
