A township chiropractor was placed on two years probation and had his chiropractic license revoked for a year on a charge of fraudulently billing a health insurance company.

Kenneth Thorn, 59, of Dilts Lane who has an office in the Martinsville section, also was ordered Friday by Superior Court Judge Paul Armstrong to pay $7,700 in restitution to Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Thorn pleaded guilty Oct. 1 to the charge.

In February 2008, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Insurance Fraud Unit received a referral from the New Jersey Office of the Insurance Fraud Prosecutor about an anonymous tip of possible insurance fraud, authorities said.

The investigation found that Thorn's main clientele were employees from Wegman's and he often went into the grocery store to offer his services to employees.
