ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A man arrested in early September, accused of coming to St. Johns County to meet with a teen girl for sexual acts, has pleaded no contest.
A no contest plea was announced today by the Office of the State Attorney, 7th Circuit of Florida.

Raymond Anthony Delgado, 57, of Bluffton, S.C., pleaded to the following charges: sexual battery; engage sex conduct, minor 12 to 18 years by person in familial or custodial authority, a first degree felony; and lewd/lascivious molestation, by person 18 years or older, victim age 12 years up to 16 years of age, a second degree felony.

In addition to the St. Johns charges, Delgado, 57, of Bluffton, S.C., faces several similar charges from South Carolina.

Authorities in Bluffton, S.C., working with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, gathered enough evidence there to add seven new charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The South Carolina charges stem from incidents that authorities believe occurred in the summer of 2007 in South Carolina at Delgado's office, the Carolina Chiropractic and Holistic Center.

Delgado, a chiropractor, is also under investigation by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation as a result of the charges.

Delgado faces up to 25 years in prison; the state is requesting that Delgado be declared a sexual predator.
