Goodyear police are still investigating sexual-abuse allegations against a local chiropractor, more than a year after his case was dismissed.

John Garfield, was arrested in April 2008 on suspicion of inappropriately touching and massaging two patients and a 17-year-old girl who worked in his office, Mountain Side Chiropractic in Goodyear.

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge dismissed the case against the 43-year-old Litchfield Park resident because prosecutors felt it needed more investigation.

Goodyear police say they expect to resubmit charges soon. A spokesman said Goodyear investigators continue to pursue the case because the Maricopa County Attorney's Office requested more information about a possible out-of-state victim or witness and additional interviews.

Garfield's attorney, Jason Lamm, said the state chiropractic board has cleared Garfield of wrongdoing.
