Allentown chiropractic agency owners convicted of federal tax fraud

A husband and wife who owned an Allentown chiropractic business were convicted today in federal court of failing to pay $150,000 in taxes on their business, according to a news release.

According to the release from the U.S. Attorney’s office:

Paul F. Basile, 55, and Barbara Basile, 54, both of Allentown, owned Lehigh Valley Non-Surgical Inc. They were convicted of failing to pay income taxes from early 2003 until the end of 2005.

Paul Basile wrote $1.4 million in bad checks to the IRS to cover taxes owed from 1995 through 2001 and failed to report income earned from tutoring, coaching and consulting from 2002 and 2005.

Paul Basile faces a maximum sentence of 36 years in prison and a $2 million fine. His wife faces a maximum sentence of 23 years in prison and a $1.45 million fine.
